Job Description
You will work directly with me (Jenny) on my Substack newsletter, Dinner: A Love Story, and help produce content and organize an editorial calendar focusing on recipes, cookbooks, books and culture. Above all, I’m looking to hire an enthusiast for this position — someone who loves to read and write, who loves books, movies, food and cooking (actual technical cooking skills a plus, but not required); someone who is organized, creative and who thinks they might want to pursue a career in media or publishing after graduation. Humanities majors (English, art, history, philosophy, political science, classics) are particularly encouraged to apply. Students from graduating classes 2025-28 are eligible.
As you assist with the Dinner: A Love Story newsletter, you will also be launching your own newsletter, and at the end of eight weeks, you’ll be connected with two publishing professionals for informational interviews.
Hours & Pay
The internship will be two days a week (approximately 12 hours total), with preferably at least one of those days in-person in New York. It will start on June 16 and finish August 15. (There will be no work the week of July 1.) The pay is $20/hour.
