So this is fun. For those of you who’ve picked up a copy of my book, a) THANK YOU and b) you might’ve ogled the Franks-n-Beans recipe which we have been known to scare up for our Halloween launch party (alongside a healthy selection of bourbon, of course). In honor of the ritual and the season, longtime partner Applegate, maker of some of the best franks out there, has agreed to partake in a little giveaway contest. Comment below and tell me what you’ve made from the book (or hope to make from the book soon) to be eligible to win enough franks to throw a legit Halloween party and then some. One winner will be chosen and will win two packs of Applegate’s all-natural hot dogs (your choice), a copy of How to Celebrate Everything (if you already own, I will send to a friend), along with some freebie coupons and good old-fashioned Applegate swag. Contest ends on Sunday, October 23, 8:00 PM ET. Good luck! Update: The winner has been notified. Thanks to everyone for playing.

I think my kiddos would love the crsipy cheakpeas with yogurt sauce – that’d be my first one to try 🙂
I want to make a Happy Wednesday Cake soon. It’s a great idea. Thanks for the giveaway.
I can’t wait to try the grilled pork chop recipe on the big thick ones my husband likes.
I’ve already made the gnocchi (yum!) and am trying the chickpeas next!!
I made Rosa’s Mud Cake for an Oregon State University Football Tailgate. it was my friend’s mom’s birthday and i put candles and school color sprinkles on it! it was a great cake and beautiful!
I don’t have a copy of the book yet, (I, too, have it on hold at my local library) but am looking forward to being inspired by your stories and reliably delicious recipes! I have Dinner The Playbook and cook from it often! Thank you for always keeping it positive and “real”!!
The snickerdoodles are amazing – the salt is such a simple but brilliant addition! Also the pork meatballs were a hit with the whole family. Franks and beans and mud cake are on deck for us next!
I look forward reading the book ans making SO MANY of the recipes!
So many great recipes, don’t have the book yet so have not tried any but the truffle popcorn and the sour cream chocolate chip nut loaf sound really good.
I’d love to try the pigs in a blanket and sauces. I think they’d be a hit here.
Brown butter apple pie
I admit, I had to have the book the day it was released and have yet to make anything. We had popovers at a restaurant last weekend and loved them, so I think I will try those. And the chorizo chili.
Picnic chicken on this week’s list!
Franks and Beans! Just made them tonight, even before I saw this post!
I’ve made franks and beans twice already! Delish.
My husband and I are recent empty nesters having just sent our son off to college but reading your cookbook was a sweet reminder of all of the traditions and celebrations both big and small we have shared as a family and has given me a whole new set of ideas and recipes to entice him along with his roommates to come for a visit . Our house has been a little too quiet, can’t wait to fill it with the chatter of young people.
My husband and I just recently enjoyed your salmon in parchment the sauce put it over the top. Would you believe me if I told you we are actually making pumpkin waffles this morning with Applegate turkey bacon
I’ve made the ribs!! So good – I can’t wait to try new recipes.
I’m looking forward to making the Brown Butter Apple Pie soon!
My kid would definitely love the franks-n-beans!

My 7yr old loves franks & beans (only applegate of course!). Still trying to convince my 3yr old about beans : )
I love your blog and the books. Thank you for all the book recommendations too!
I’ll probably make Rosa’s Mud Cake first, because you just can’t go wrong with cake. Happy Halloween!
