If you’re like most people, the first place your mind goes when it’s time to dream up Father’s Day gifts is outside, in the general direction of the grill. And if the dad in question is like most dads, he already has his fair share of tongs, trays, tools and toys. Here’s an idea: How about something that actually gets cooked on the grill? Like, for instance, a box of wild, sustainably-sourced, sockeye salmon from Alaska’s pristine Bristol Bay? A few weeks ago, an Alaskan fisherman named Matt emailed me about his new company, Wild Alaska Direct which delivers boneless meal-size portions of premium sockeye anywhere in the US with free shipping. (If that didn’t sell me, his P.S. about being a gin-and-tonic soulmate certainly did.) Anyway, Matt was nice enough to offer an exclusive Father’s Day giveaway contest for DALS readers: A 5-pound box of fillet portions, delivered right to one lucky winner’s door. That’s six dinners for two, twelve single portions, or a dinner for you and 11 of your closest friends. How fun is that? To be eligible, all you have to do is comment below. Contest ends Sunday, June 5 at 8:00 ET. (Update: The winner has been notified. Thank you all for playing!)
Olive oil
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon chives
3 tablespoons finely chopped dill
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
salt and pepper
dash of hot sauce

Would love to win this! As a Seattle native who now lives in the land-locked high desert of New Mexico, we have a really hard time finding good fish.
My dad doesn’t like salmon but my husband (a new dad) would love this!
I remember visiting Anchorage a few years ago and shipping myself an 18 lb box of wild salmon jaw, salmon bellies, king crab, and some gorgeous assorted other fish (halibut etc.) on dry ice…what a treat to come home to!
