So, in case you haven’t heard, today is the day Dinner: A Love Story is officially on sale. When you pick up your copy, the first thing I’d like you to do is turn to The Acknowledgments on page 299. There are a lot of people mentioned in those pages — as my editor said when she received my first draft of the section, “This should be it’s own book!” — because there were a lot of people who helped make this happen in both small ways (picking up my kids at school when I was in the middle of shooting a pork chop: Annie!) and huge (producing a masterful Dinner: A Love Story Book Trailer: Ed!) But you will see that the very first thank-you goes out to you guys, my loyal dinner-making, book-reading, thoughtful-comment-writing Dinner: A Love Story readers. It’s hard to overstate how much your support these past few years has meant to me and how much I appreciate all those heartfelt emails I receive on a daily basis — the ones that Andy mentioned last week and which, half the time, come with the subject head “Thank you.”
Well, now it’s time for me to say thank you. Over the last few months I’ve been collecting gifts that fit with the general philosophy of this blog — pots and pans and cooking classes and a week of free dinners and kids’ books and crazy cool lunchboxes and some of the most delicious chocolates you will ever eat. So it’s only fair that today, the day Dinner: A Love Story is published, you guys get the chance to win them. All you have to do is click here to check out the prizes, answer one simple question (what part of the book resonated with you the most?), and follow the instructions on that page for how to proceed. (Please do not leave your “resonant moment” in this comment field. Again, go here!)
You have until July 6 to enter. Good luck!
And: Thank you.
Jenny, Andy, Phoebe & Abby

My copy should be arriving from Amazon with the mailman today. My kids are a little bit older than yours (14 & 11) but even though I’m a personal chef, I still experience those picky eaters giving my slaved over dinner the thumbs down. I love checking your site in the morning and making your recipes for dinner that night ( I have a well stocked pantry so I can usually pull it off).
Congratulations on the book!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Best of luck with everything great that will come from the publication of the book.
Getting a copy of the book is on my list of things to do this week.
I got my shipping notice on Saturday and I can’t wait to get home and open that Amazon box! On Friday, I made Tony’s steak to celebrate 🙂 Banner day!
Congratulations on the book! I can’t wait to get my copy in the mail. I have two little boys and so much of what you write resonates with our family. Thank you for all you have shared!
I just want to say – CONGRATULATIONS! This is a momentous occasion and I’m so glad you can share it with the entire family, who have inspired you to write the blog and then the book. Thank you for sharing your experiences with all of us!
My copy arrived last Friday afternoon, just in time for a three-day rainy weekend. I’ve poured over the pages and love every single thing about the book. I’m so glad you wrote it! Congratulations to you all.
Congrats. You must be thrilled. Will check it out for sure.
Congrats! I can’t wait for my copy to arrive. I know it will be great.
Yay! I can’t even describe how excited I am for my book to arrive – TODAY! Without even having a peek inside it’s pages yet, I know it will become my dinner bible.
Congrats!
Thank you for helping me keep dinner inspired instead of routinely boring.
Happy on-sale day! I can’t wait for my copy to arrive!
Congratulations–I just ordered my copy on Amazon and can’t wait for it to arrive. Your blog has been such a HUGE inspiration for me and you’ve added at least three dishes into my regular rotation. Every time I think I have nothing to cook for dinner and then realize that I can make chicken chili I send you a silent thank you.
Congratulations!!! You must be so proud. Kudos for following your dreams , it is an elite club!
Congrats! I’m going to have to get a copy. I have four kids – two picky eaters (ages 6 & 16) – two who will eat anything (ages 4 & 7). Love your blog / site …..
My copy just arrived; can’t wait to dive in!
Congratulations! Funny…took pizza dough out of the freezer last night for dinner tonight. Might just have to track down that book today, rather than waiting for a delivery truck! If that’s not possible, I already have your pizza pages marked from Time for Dinner. :O)
I placed my order today. I always need a hand feeding my boys in record time. Cant wait!
I knew the book would be on sale in early June, but today I decided I was just going to finally pre-order so I wouldn’t forget, and didn’t realize today was actually the big day! Congratulations!! Your blog is amazing, and my very picky family enjoys every recipe of yours that I make. Can’t wait to get my book in the mail!! You are single-handedly changing the family dinner dynamic and making what is normally a chaotic and exhausting time of day, one that is easy, attainable, and enjoyable. Thank you!!
My copy is in the mail according to Amazon and I can’t wait!
Would anyone be interested in doing a Cook A-Long to the DALS Book, kind of like a Book Club with dinner benefits. If so, I’ll set up a web ring for all of us to participate in. Jenny – I hope this is ok to do.
Just got my shipping notice! So exciting. Can’t wait to see the book. Congratulations and thank you.
SO EXCITING! Wow, that cover gets me every time I see it. It’s SO beautiful!
Congratulations on the release of your book!
I have been a visitor to your blog since I was on mat leave with my now 2 yr old. You have saved many a dinner hour in my home3 and made dinner as a family an achievable dream.
Thank you!
Oh ya – I just ordered the book today too.
Can’t wait for it to arrive!
Congrats! My kitchen shelf with notable food reference books has a spot waiting for this very special book!
So exciting Jenny! I always feel a bit like a fraud with my Le Creuset pots, sabatier and global knives and dualit toaster(sucks) mostly because I don’t cook. However, since dinneralovestory evolved I have become less of a fraud and as my 7 year old told me last week, “Mom you are a pretty good cooker.” Congratulations!
